Considered one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly rechargeables on the market, Hybrio batteries can be used straight from the pack and then charged up to 1000 times.

Unlike other types of rechargeable batteries, Hybrio batteries do not need to be charged after purchase. The low rate of self-discharge means they can also be stored for long periods of time and still be ready to use.

Hybrio batteries combine the practicality and convenience of normal lithium batteries with the environmental credentials of NiMH batteries. By cutting down on the amount of waste in each battery, Uniross have made Hybrio Batteries a very eco-friendly brand.

While Hybrio batteries were the first hybrid batteries, many other companies produce rechargeable batteries.

Hybrio batteries can be charged up in any NiMH battery charger, which means they are a convenient choice for any device, including alarm clocks, electric toys, CD players, MP3 players and digital cameras.

Types of Hybrio batteries

At the moment, the Hybrio range is fairly limited, offering only AAA batteries and AA batteries. However, Uniross are carrying out more research. In the near future this could deliver more applications of Hybrio technology, such as:

• Button batteries.
• 9v batteries.
• D batteries.
• 6v batteries.

Whatever the future holds, at present Hybrio batteries offer savings in terms of money and waste.
